Tatiana Warsher and the Codex Topographicus Pompeianus

I'm hopeful that someone might be able to point me in the right direction towards laying my hands on a copy of the Codex Topographicus Pompeianus or the Warsher Codex.

As far as I can tell there should be 25 vols but I am unable to trace them easily; this could be entirely due to my mind being tired at the end of the day. Tracing this work in an accessible form may be difficult, but it would be useful if I were able to track a copy that I didn't have to travel to Rome to view (always a wonderful place, but not feasible at the moment). Thus far I have been able to learn that records of Warsher's work exist and even find catalogues of her work, but sadly I cannot find an available copy/copies.

Thank you kindly! Sera

I think I am right in saying that Van der Poel inherited all of Warsher's papers when she died, and his collection is now at the Getty ...

Thanks, Jo. That's as I suspected after doing a bit of background research. I know that some records are also held by the DAI, but hoped there might be something UK based.

It seems that also the American Academy in Rome is in possession of some of her material, not yet inventoried.

Hi,

Maybe someone has a better reply, but I remember that Yale has a microfilm or microfiche of Tatiana Warsher's photographs that Wilhelmina Jashemski consulted.

We have a stack of it here at Cincinnati.

Thanks very much to everyone who contributed their knowledge about the Warsher Codex. It has made things much clearer. I'm just sad I'm too far away from Rome or America to search the records!
