Pompeii 1961 and 2009.

We have been looking at the Stanley A. Jashemski photographs that we are adding to pompeiiinpictures and "oohing" and "aahing" at the colours and vibrancy of his photos showing the painted plaster. We wanted to share it with others.

Compare Stanley's photo (1961) and ours (2009) of the Vicolo di Ifigenia, east side, near III.4.e.

The changes over time, with pollution, wear and tear and the earthquake are incredible.
