The collections of the Royal Bourbon Museum--now the National Archaeological Museum in Naples, Italy--were greatly enriched in the 18th and 19th centuries by finds from excavations at Herculaneum and Pompeii. Art historian Andrea Milanese discusses the history of the Museum and its evolution as a center for the restoration of antiquities.

Anyone who can get along to this lecture by Andrea Milanese really should go! I first met him years ago in the Naples Museum archive, and you would be hard pressed to find someone more helpful or more knowledgeable in this area.
